The best parks in Lakeway
The Lakeway Parks and Recreation Department aims to provide parks, facilities and services Lakeway community. There are so many beautiful sceneries plus a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. The people are the guarantee of having a very relaxing time and comfortable, with great year-round weather and park staff always willing to help.
Home Parks
In midtown Lakeway only at the end of the porpoise Street, people will find Porpoise Park. The park features playgrounds where kids can learn to play soccer, Frisbee and walk their dogs. The park also is ideal for afternoon picnic where families can simply lay a blanket and watch the sunset.
The Canyonlands is the newest park in the city. The park was its name to the beautiful canyon running through the area. The landscape is one of the best traits of the Canyonlands especially during autumn when everything turns gold, orange and red. Spring is a good time to visit and where everything comes alive with flowers and a barrage of green foliage. The department intends to keep the park as natural possible only with minor alterations, such as banks and no other events in the area.
Individuals get to enjoy the trail in Canyonlands edge. Canyon Trail is more appropriate for more experienced looking for more challenge. Dogs on a leash and there is really no need to invest in special equipment for hiking, except for a comfortable, sturdy walking shoes.
Picnic for families and individuals, City Park is a great place with 64 acres of stunning. The park is 502 Hurst Creek Road, accessible by water as well from Hurst Creek Cove on Lake Travis. The park can be accessed freely by Lakeway residents but visitors must pay for entry. City Park is open daily from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. Fun activities in the park include two miles of hiking, biking and skating routes, a butterfly garden, playgrounds for toddlers and preschoolers and a dog park.
More Fun Parks
Dragon Park is Dragon located on the street past the Village Shopping Center Plaza. The park is open daily from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. It is a great place to picnic and sports. There is a basketball court, volleyball court and a sports field for soccer and Frisbee enthusiasts. Young children can play on the swing and the area that parents can see blankets between points set in green grass close convenient. A few simple rules do not include harvesting of vegetation, no unleashed animals, no fireworks, no loud music and no alcoholic beverages.
Smith Greenbelt is another great place to enjoy excursions and trips. The area measures 4.5 acres and is accessible at two points. There is parking available at the main entrance. The trails are well maintained to provide the ultimate hiking experience. There are also bike trails available for enthusiasts of off-road riders. Dogs are allowed but require a leash.
There are a number of centers in the city of Lakeway and the Center Swimming, Heritage Center and Activity Center. People who own houses in Lakeway Lakeway real estate and get to enjoy the activities that enable them more on culture, tradition and environmental awareness. Some activities are coordinated and supervised by park staff. The activities follow a daily schedule given so visitors may need to request information before you go.
